Staking · staking

Locking up a digital asset to help secure a network, in exchange for rewards.

In staking, a user locks up their asset on a network that uses a Proof-of-Stake mechanism, and in return for helping confirm transactions and secure the network, they earn a reward.

Staking yields vary depending on the network and how long the asset is locked up, and should be weighed alongside the risk of the underlying asset's own price volatility.
