Whale · a large holder

A person or entity holding a very large amount of a cryptocurrency, capable of influencing the market.

Whales are addresses or entities that hold a very large volume of a digital asset. Their capital movements — whether buying or selling — can, on their own, have a noticeable effect on the market price.

Many analysts track asset movement in whale wallets using on-chain tools to pick up clues about possible shifts in market trend, though this kind of monitoring is never fully certain.
